Manipulation |
|
Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy (CMT) is more commonly known as chiropractic adjustment. It involves a specific force applied in a precise direction on a non-mobile joint.
Much irritation can be caused when the two bones which create a non-mobile joint lose their normal position. When this occurs in the spine it can impinge on delicate nerve tissue. In the extremities this irritates the muscles, ligaments and joints. Chiropractic adjustments help return the bones and joints to their normal position which relieves pain and allows the body to heal itself. |

Chiropractic |
|
There are hundreds of different techniques to adjust the spine and extremities. At Stratton Chiropractic and Family Health Center, we specialize in diversified technique, Flexion-Distraction technique, Gonstead and Thompson (drop) technique. Each of these methods use the doctor's hands to deliver the adjustment. Regardless of the technique, each chiropractic adjustment is tailored to the patient's age, size, and unique problem.
It is important to remember that it takes years of training to be able to deliver a chiropractic adjustment. Chiropractic adjustments are so safe, even newborns and children receive adjustments to repair the damage caused from the birth process, learning to walk, or other childhood trauma. |
